Buying a game

What do I get when I buy a game?

A complete digital quiz game: eight rounds, more than 100 questions, a live scoreboard and the Playbook with all the rules, instructions and answers. Everything is built into one game file that you open in your browser.

How do I get the game?

The game is sent to your email straight after purchase. Unzip the download, open the game in your browser and you're ready to play. No app, account or installation required.

Is it a physical or a digital product?

It's a digital game. There is nothing to ship – you get it by email the moment you've paid.

Playing the game

What do I need to play?

A computer to run the game. For the best experience, connect it to a TV or a bigger screen so everyone can follow the questions, reveals and standings. Players only need a phone or pen and paper for their answers.

How many players can take part?

One Game Master runs the game for 2–5 players, or up to 5 teams. Playing in teams is a great way to bring more people into the game.

What does the Game Master do?

Part host, part referee. The Game Master runs the game, judges the answers, awards the points and hands out the penalties. Everything they need is in the Playbook, built into the game.

How long does a game take?

It depends on the number of players. Expect around 1.5 hours with 2 players and up to 3 hours with 5 players or teams.

Can we take a break and carry on later?

Yes. The game saves your progress automatically in your browser. Just don't use a private or incognito window, and open the game in the same browser when you come back.

What language are the games in?

All games are in English.

Choosing a game

Which game should I choose?

Pick the football you know best. General Football covers European club football, UEFA competitions and international tournaments. European Nights is all about the Champions League. The English Football games each cover an era of the English game, and The Biggest Stage is the World Cup edition.

How difficult are the games?

Each game has its own difficulty level, shown on the product page – the more bars filled, the tougher the game. Whatever the level, expect questions made for people who genuinely follow football.

What kind of rounds are there?

Every game has eight rounds in different formats. Some test pure football knowledge, others bring strategy, risk and pressure into play. If it's still level after eight rounds, the game goes to Sudden Death.

Can we play the same game more than once?

You can, but once you know the answers it's not quite the same. Each game is best played once with the same group – then it's time for a new one. See all games.

How up to date are the questions?

Each product page shows when its content was last updated, so you always know which seasons and tournaments are covered.
